cold running problems 200

hello I have a 1989 volvo 240 with a 5spd trans and during the first few minutes of running the car is very unresponsive. It falls on its face if you apply the accelerator. However during that time it idles fine the accelerator just has to be feathered. After it warms up a bit it drives great. Just to clarify I do nurse it when driving the car when cold.
