Hello I have a 91 volvo 740. I bought a 2000 v70 xc (a nightmare in disguise) and let this 91 sit for about 4 weeks. Then it wouldn't start but very intermittenly, it would idle rough but run fine at cruising speed with lots of power. Then it wouldn't start without ether but would idle very rough. Now it won't start and stay running without ether. THe ignition was all replaced 2 yrs ago and it runs on ether so the spark is good. I can hear the fuel pump running and fuel comes out from the lines on the rail. I checked the Fuel relay in the dash and even attempted to re solder it, although it looks like it is not the original and was replaced by the previous owner. I can hear it clicking when I try to start the car. I checked and cleaned all the grounds. I swapped the plugs on the radio interference relay on the coolant tank to see if that would help but no go. I just replaced the crank positioning sensor.
The plugs are dry, no fuel. What do I do next?? Should I replace the relay just to eliminate that as a potential problem? Could my pressure regulator prevent it from starting?
Thanks for any help.
