Fuel pump issue 900 1995

Has anyone had any problems with the wiring inside the tank? Replaced fuel pump back in June with a Walbro unit & it's worked fine until last week. Suspected the pump & got a replacement under warranty, but same problem. With a pressure gauge hooked up & listening to the pump it seems that the pump starts spinning faster, lose's pressure & dies. I'm suspecting the wiring since the pump varies in speed.

Does it with 12V hooked to the connector going the pump at the tank (bypassing the circuit). This 95 940 only has 1 pump, not 2 & it's not a Regina system. I've replaced the Walbro pump with a used 850 pump, did you know you can use this pump? You can, same size exactly.

Checked wiring going into the tank & cannot find any issue testing with the meter. The 850 pump speed only varies very slightly & has not died yet. Went on a couple good test runs & ran great.

I'm worried as it has only died while idling in traffic. Sometimes starts right back, other times not.
