Transmission Shifting problem 900

My 92 940 with 65K miles clunks when it is hot going from reverse to forward. When cold everything is normal. When you shift from reverse to drive it is a soft engagement and seems to partially engage and then after the car moves forward about 6-12" there is a cluck and it is then really engaged. Before the clunk it takes more throttle to make the car move. I have changed/flushed the fluid and it didn't do anything. Now I don't know if I should clean the valve body or what.
