Need advice on a used car. 900 1996

I currently own a 1990 740gl, and I'm looking at a newer 960. However it has 286k+ mileage on it (mine 210k), they say it's "highway mileage" and they're the original owner.

Should I even consider it? If I do get it, should i worry about the head gasket or transmission(i don't mind working on it myself), and does highway mileage actually mean anything

It's in really nice shape, and definitely priced right.
