Coolant coming in the car... 700 1985

As I vacuumed up the liquid that I thought was a spilled water bottle on my passenger side floor board, I realized very quickly that it is coolant!

I need to take it in to get looked at but I'd like to be armed with a little bit of information so that I don't get taken for a ride...

Any ideas of what might be going on?

Could this have any connection to my heater not working?
