FWD wheels on my '84 240 200

Okay, so I sprung for a set of wheel adapters from one of this board's advertisers, 5x108mm bolt pattern 25MM width for the front and 32mm for the rear. I am using 15" wheels just like the ones displayed in Strong-pimp-hand's post at: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1128005/220/240/260/280/850_wheels_240.html%0A

When I removed the front wheel I find two little machine screws with 10mm heads sticking out of the face of the wheel hub which prevents the adapter from fitting flush against the face of the wheel hub. Did I purchase the wrong kind of adapters? Do these two little screws perform some vital attachment function? When I remove them the hub feels a little loose.

As always, thanks for the great advice.
