heater core blues 900 1993

So I was out for a drive with my better half last night, and steam started coming out of the defrost vents...
After reading the FAQ I think it's the heater core. I've done the heater core/blower motor on a 240, and supposedly this one is worse. Consequently I have no interest in taking it on. Can anyone comment on what this is likely to cost me at a shop? How many hours? And what else should be changed while it's out? I'm thinking the heater control valve and the hoses.
