Does Ignition Power Stage (Module) Ground to Body? 900 1993

Hey folks. I have a '93 940 Turbo that stalled no less than 25 times on a 5 mile drive! When it happened, the tach would drop from say 2300 rpm to zero. A bunch of times it would recover on its own a split second later, other times drop to zero and completely cut out. It was as if someone pulled the plug on it. It would re-start 100% of the time. I read the 700/900 FAQ and it sounds like an ignition power stage problem. This part is also called the power output stage or ignition amplifier and is mounted on the inside of the left fender.

I picked up a new one from my Volvo parts guy and when removing the old one I found that 1 of the screws that fastens the part to the body of the car was loose. I investigated further and found that the hole for the screw was elongated and the screw just spins in it.

Could this simply be my problem? Does the metal heat sink that this module is mounted on need a solid connection to the body in order to operate correctly? And if so, could I add ground wire to it to ensure a more permanent ground?
