Loose plate on AC Compressor 900 1994

My AC works fine, but there is a metal plate on the front of the compressor that is loose. When you stop the car with the AC on, it rattles like nickels in a can. This has been happening off and on for some time and does not seem to affect the performance of the AC. Is this something to be concerned about and how can I tighten or epoxy it back on so it stops making the noise?
