I'm about to find someone I think I can trust to do the back brakes on my 86 245 Volvo (they are scraping). It was brought over from Germany (by a military guy) and while the chassis has about 150,000 miles on it, its engine was replaced before I bought it from the local college auto program for $360.
The engine is good, but everything that can, wants to rust. The rack and pinion needs replaced, I've replaced front-end parts, the shocks have rusted out. It's kind of discouraging, but I love these 200 series wagons. So with very little money I need to order back brake parts and bearings (might as well, I'm told)and probably should replace the shocks. So how do I know which brakes to get, because there are choices, I'm told (What is the easiest way to know what type, or size, or whatever, my car takes without pulling off a wheel? Or is there another way?), and what is the best priced resource for on line parts? Any suggestions, help, parts list ideas, would be warm chocolate chip cookies! Thanks!! Brick Rider
