I have a '64 PV544 with a 1975 B20 engine, retrofitted with S.U. carbs as I detest fuel injection.
I have the split manifold, and I have plans as soon as I escape from this hospital (I'm in my 13th week here) to upgrade the stock exhaust.
First, dual exhaust with 2-1/4 stainless tubing.
The original Volvo muffler resided under the passengers' seat, with the resonator behind the rear bumper.
If I stayed with a single exhaust, I'd do away with the stock muffler and install a Cherry Bomb glasspack in place of the resonator. Cherry Bombs cost in the neighborhood of $20.
With the planned dual exhaust, I want dual Cherry Bombs, too. Reducing the per-pipe load from 4 cylinders to 2 cylinders will give a louder and crisper exhaust note anyway. I love to listen to the car sing as we travel the roads around here, so the upgrade will just improve Hot Stuff's voice!

Lots of neat cars, but I'm tired of listing them.
I guess I should upgrade my signature!
