B18 front cover removal 444-544

Having a hard time removing the front cover from my b18 (544). I've removed all the bolts and the crankshaft pulley. The cover won't come off, I've tried gently prying it with a screwdriver to break the gasket seal but it feels like something it holding it on and I don't want to crack the cover.
