rear door stuck 700

My rear door got stuck on my '87 740 wagon. This is especially painful since that's where our 9 month cute daughter sits. Now we have to drag her to the other side of the car.
Anyway, i checked FAQ and I only found about broken or loos linkages. My linkage is still working - the lock mechanism just got stuck because of old grease/paste. I sprayed already a ton of WD40 from the outside and put the car in the sun hoping that it would make the grease/paste more soft so it would open - so far no success (and it's pretty warm in Southern California). Once i have the door open i can clean the mechanism.
Any other suggestions i could try? Thanks in advance for all your inputs
