Headlight wiper removal. S90-V90

I am trying to remove the headlight unit to get at the headlight wiper on the right side. The shaft for the wiper comes out through a hole in the bumper and I cannot figure out how it can be removed as it would have to move back in order to clear the bumper but it is right tight against the sheet metal. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks..
