heater blower motor won't turn on 200 1991

my daughter said she tried to turn on the heater fan the other day and she smelled a burning smell. I replaced fuse # 3 and when I tried the fan I could feel the drain on the battery.
Is it the dreaded blower motor or perhaps the resistor.It wasn't sqealing prior to failure.I don't have time for this crap....
