Spouse's '92 960 had radiator replaced about a year ago, "one-size-fits-nobody" aftermarket item. Since, has had 3 occasions of plug blowing out of unused & plugged fitting, with major loss of coolant on highway. Last one, a couple nights ago, at about 20F in the dark. Towed back to indy mech who did the prior rad transplant, who's ordered a replacement radiator and says its an issue he relates to the pressure cap. It's in the shop over Christmas.
Could use suggestions on what I should ask him to make sure:
1. He knows what he's talking about, and 2. He's correctly fixed the problem, and 3. He's not just bullshitting me to cover up something he should have done the first time he replaced the radiator.
Volvo parts guy sez no original radiators available for this orphan any more, even if we wanted to truck the beast over a hundred miles to the dealer.
Thoughts? suggestions? colorful vocabulary additions?
TIA
