Front & Rear Rubber Exhaust Hangers, Which is Which 900 1995

Yesterday I replaced the exhaust system on my 95 940 with the Starla/Walker cat-back kit from eEuroparts. I noticed that the front and rear rubber hangers are not the same, but I didn't know which was which.

One pair was made of significantly softer rubber than the other, and it may have been just a bit shorter between the hang points.

I put the softer ones on the rear muffler and the stiffer ones on the front muffler. Does anybody know if I guessed right?

By the way, the inlet pipe of the front muffler in that system comes with a significant dent in the section that is ovaled to fit under the cross brace. eEuroparts told me that Starla made a tooling change and they are all that way now, and that Starla said it was just fine like that. They also said that they get about 8 phone calls about it for every 10 that they sell. It looks like someone took an ax to it and crushed the pipe about 1/4 inch deep. I decided it was unacceptable like that so I cut it off, hammered out the dent, and welded it back together.

Charley

Thanks,
Charley
