Trunk strut install question 200 1986

Has anyone thought of installing, in addition to, the existing trunk lid struts, the piston type struts that hold up small car hoods or lift gates so that when unlocking the trunk, it would open up on its own? There wouldn't seem to be much weight and the lid is well balanced. Just a thought.
