Radio, SC-815 / SC-816 fit a 1995 940 dash?

From what I have been able to determine by searching the forum archives, it seems that an SC 815 or SC-816 is compatible with the wiring in my 1995 940 (10 & 14 pin rectangular plugs, and round remote CD plug).

However, will it fit the hole in my dash? Maybe it fits but only if I have other dash filler components?

The hole in my dash is about 3 inches high (maybe 3 & a quarter), which I believe is known as a DIN and a Half. I have never seen an SC-815 / SC-816, but in pictures it looks like it might be a Double Din (4 inches high).

The car currently has a CR-915 with extra space below it, but I don’t know if it came that way from the factory. The tape and remote CD work, but the AM/FM tuner does not.

If the 815 / 816 will fit, then does anyone know the difference between them? Are there reasons that I should desire or avoid these models?
