I just purchased a running 1987 740 to swap the engine/transmission into my 1990 760 v6 that has an overheated engine giving me trouble. Is this swap as easy as they come or is there anything I should look out for? The 740 has 208k miles and I'm not sure about the transmission. The car runs and shifts very smoothly so I don't plan to tear down the engine/transmission for any rebuild. Though I suppose now would be a good time to replace the engine main seal and transmission seal while there is easy access. What else should I really do to the 740 engine/trans prior to installation in the 760?
Thanks
Chad
