Since I have just joined the ranks of the unemployed, I’m hoping for an inexpensive fix to keep the old “Red Rocket” flying. I been driving the car, (1984 240 284K miles), for about 7 yrs now and during that time we, (the car and I), had our share of what I would call, “communication problems”. Simple things like I would want to drive “it” to the store and “it” would decide that the fast lane would be a great place to show me how all the colorful lights on the dash would look like when they "lit-up" at the same time. Sometimes after a rough one I would leave the auto Want-Ads open on the front seat overnight and the next morning the car would run great. Funny how these thing happen.
Mostly it’s just little thing like hitting a bump and having the driver window falling off its track and sliding into the door and/or the glove box door falling off but lately when I start the car it will start and idle fine but when I put it in drive or reverse it starts to chug. Once I get to highway speed it runs ok but getting there the car shakes so much I have to keep my teeth tightly shut so not to crack a filling. Any ideas?
Thanks
Larry
