BROKEN RADIO '86 245 -- what cause, how to fix 200

this 245 looks to have an aftermarket cassette deck - JVC or something, not Volvo-brand. radio turns on but makes no sound whatsoever. what could this be? fuse inside the radio itself, or maybe a fuse routing to the speakers? or else the stereo is the only one to blame?
