During a conversation on engine oils (happens amongst engineers you know) the Brad Penn brand came up. Suddenly it dawned on me why they were at the vintage races at Watkins Glen last fall selling a pile of oil. They're catering to the flat tappet crowd! I had thought it was just a regional thing. Bradford isn't all that far from the Glen. Also they use the old Kendall refinery. Kendall had been affiliated with racing at Watkins Glen for a long, long time.
Sure enough they advertise higher levels of ZDDP "for engines employing either ‘flat tappet’ or roller cams." Their website is: http://www.bradpennracing.com/default.asp Sounds like an option, plus that whole "Made in the USA" thing.
Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement. I have no affiliation with them, though I will admit a bias for all things Pennsylvanian, especially the northern region where the refinery is. Same town is also home of Zippo lighters and Case knives.

Will
