No start- no power to coil 89 760 turbo 700

I gave up, (after 2 weeks of trouble shooting)I got the tow truck to take it to my mechanic, and he said there was no power to the coil, which I noticed too, and checked the blue wire from the power stage(amplifier) to coil, he wired the coil directly to the battery, and sure enough, car started. The problem is I don't have exact schematics, my manual says it is the same as 740, but it isn't, all the fuses are different numbers and etc, he thinks this is due to bad ignition switch, I had a 87 740 with similar problem, but at least the manual was matching the car.
Car started to have electric problems recently- no speedo( off and on), failing neutral safety switch, and now this...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Alex
