dashboard bad light indicator 700 1991

so the light on the dash that lets you know if you have a bad bulb used to come on occasionally and i never thought anything of it b/c i know they are funky. the other day it came on and stayed on and i observed a bad tail light. i've since replaced all the bulbs in the rear with the correct wattage bulbs all new and now the dashboard bad light won't go off... even if the lights are off as soon as i turn on the car, the light comes on. i find this highly annoying and had a similar problem with my 240.

anybody know what the deal with this is? or can point me in the right direction?
