Does anyone know if a 91 245 is any different from a 91 electronicwise? I have the green wiring book for my royal black 93 245. If they’re mostly the same, I can save myself some trouble to order a new book for her.
I just picked up that beautiful 91 red 245 from 3 hours away (car was in Terre Haute IN and I’m in St. Louis MO) Friday. I knew (with 95% confidence according to my research and intuition) that it’s got to be in good shape. When I saw her (After 3 hours of cold, cold winter morning drive (0 degree F at 6 am when I hit the road), I was still very surprised. It IS almost perfect. As you walk around a new car scanning everything, putting check marks on the checklist in your mind, what a neat feeling! The car has a new paint matching original paint code (a few years?). It must have been done in a very good shop, if not the dealership. Three is no rust on the body or under the chassis. The windshield has a few rack chips and the plastic molding around it is cracking. I’ll have to replace it soon. Four tires are literally brandnew. The interior is just as “lovely” and clean as the exterior. Of course the center consol has some cracks. The door pockets are wrapped with matching color IPD door pocket skin.
The car started right up with the first turn of key, but won’t stay idle once it’s warmed up for a few minute. As soon as you start driving, it will keep going (It’s a bad AMM as I found out yesterday).
I was so happy after I loaded her on to the trailer. I think the only other day it can compare to is the day I spotted my very first 91 silver 745T. I went to a nice Tai restaurant (right next to the Goodwill store) to treat myself a good lunch. I had to park the rig right outside the window, so I can keep admiring her while I eat!)
I did the bare essential on her Saturday: synthetic engine oil and ATF, a new AMM, and new she runs as good as new. I’ll do the complete maintenance on her once it warms up a little. For now, she is good.
