I have looked in the hard to start section of the archives with no luck. Here are the symptoms. In the morning (or after sitting for an hour or so) in any weather the car cranks like it did the day it was born. When I get to my first stop, either near or far, it is slow for the engine to start running. To clarify, the starter engages the engine and it turns over the engine as it should with the starter and battery working correctly. It just takes 10 to 15 seconds for the engine to run. Once it is running it will run perfect. Last week I filled it up with gas 3 minutes from my house and it would not start afterwards. I towed to my mechanic and by the time he got to it it was starting.??? Imagine that. I picked it back up and I drove it on a 90 mile trip yesterday. With the same symptom.
I have checked the spark plugs and they are firing. I have replaced the check valve in the fuel line as well as the fuel filter. Is this a simple fuel pump relay issue? I hate to spent $50 bucks for nothing. Could it be that one of the fule pumps is going? Is the coil going? The wiring harness is perfect on the car if you were wondering. It has 105k on the body with an engine transplant 3k ago. No computer to tell me what is wrong. Please help.
