Plastic door guard piece - how to fasten? 200

I have a 1992 245 which has the gray protective modling along the bottom of the doors. It has come loose at one end and it doesn't look like it is clipped on so it must been adhesive or the like.

How do I get the piece to fasten to the door? What type of adhesive if it is in fact the way it was previously held in place?
