Hi,
I will move to Canada (NB) during summer and I am trying to find a solution to import my 940 SW Turbo 2.0 Petrol to Canada.
Unfortunately, Canadian regulations seem to be clear:
vehicles fifteen (15) years old or older can be imported, mine is from January 1997, which at the time of my departure will make it a 12 and half year old car, therefore "too young" for the Canadian rules.
On the other hand, leaving a car in my home country for 2 and half years without being driven by anybody would turn it into a wreck.
The only advantage of waiting until January 2012, I wouldn't have to go through the RIV program, saving lots of $$$.
New Brunswick gov website over vehicles importation links directly to the one of Transport Canada, which make me think they do not make exception to the rule.
I really don't know what to do and I am looking for good suggestions.
Thank you!
Alex
