Hole Saw TAB Works, well if you don't do one thing! 200

Started last night and it took me about two hours to get to my first TAB and like everyone else, I was shocked by the condition of the bushings. The hole saw does the trick, the drivers side came out perfectly.

However...... I has having drill issues on the passengers side. First my six year old 18 volt drill decided to have an open in the trigger just as I started drilling. Pulled out the not used since the 18 volt drill, old Black and Decker drill plugged it in and started again. It started grabbing and pulling but thought I had it going pretty well. Suddenly there was a lot of smoke and I though the rubber was on fire. Well it was the old drill literately on fire. and that was the end of my day. Got a new drill today and finished it of in no time. The bad news is the grabbing was the hole saw cutting into the sleeve of the Tab. Did not pay enough attention to the task while I was messing with dying and burning drills.

So going to take a BB'er up on his offer of a TAB tool and replace the damaged sleeve. This is a do it once job and do it right.

So yes, if you are installing poly bushings a 2 inch hole saw is a fast easy way to remove almost all of the old bushing. A brass brush did the rest, well maybe there was a final burn out of the bushing with a propane torch tonight. You need to take the tail pipe off to get the drill in there on the passengers side. Did not really want to do that, but it is in the way. No problems taking any of the nuts off, and not issues with rust.

Getting the rest of the parts back from the machine shop in the AM and all but the passengers side will be done hopefully. So at least the axle with not be held up on jack stands and jacks. But not going to put the new bushings in a buggered up sleeve.

Regards,

Paul
