Routing of trailer hitch wiring on 940 wagon 900

I picked up a used factory hitch for the 945 and installed it.

Now I'd like to get the electrical working. What is the preferred route of the wires from inside to outside? Any drilling involved? I don't see any pre-drilled passage.
