Shiftlock troubles 200 1993

Finally traded my son my 93 245 so he can have a reliable car to use doing photojournalism. He gave me back my 86 740..yay!
But now the shiftlock jams on the 93..the car starts,but will not shift out of park. Worse, the windows do not roll down when this happens.
Is my son's car haunted? Has anybody any experience with something like this? I've replaced both fuses (for shiftlock and for windows)..what next should I try?
