250K, 785 miles, pretty good Friday the 13th 200 1986

31 years ago today that I started working for my company (and still need 3.5 years dang it). I mark the day by not going to work of course. Instead took Inga out for a little quick in state 785 mile drive up north of Fort Worth, over to Kilgore, down to Nacogdoches, and back to Pasadena on the south side of Houston. The goal of the trip was to get my wife her Valentines Present, negotiations took too long and the only way have it here tomorrow as go get it today. My wife was lead to believe that I was taking an IKea couch to the daughters house in East Texas. That part was true, just a made a side trip first. Could not see a dang thing out the back mirror with that couch in there. Had to pull the seat bottom out to get the couch in, but it fit. The boys at Ikea did not think you would be able to shut the door and were pretty impressed when the door latched. Pulled their legs a bit and said that the Swedes had to design Ikea stuff to fit in a Volvo wagon by law.

Inga also rolled over the 250K mark on the trip, at least my best estimate of her mileage. Pesky OD gear makes the exact mileage EWAG at best. The new rear poly bushings and the PUP sway bar were sweet. The rumble, rattle, thump, and sway are gone. She handled like a dream, and averaged 27 miles to a gallon to boot. The rebuilt drivers seat was comfy, engine and tranny were smooth, the wife will be shocked I found part of her wedding china she never got, and the couch was delivered.

Thanks for all you guys help and advice getting us this far. Inga would be at at PUP without the BB, instead she cruised almost 800 today miles without even a whimper, shimmy, or shake.

As a side note, why to owners of sports cars have to speed up and overtake a 245 when it cruises by. Had at least four cars suddenly speed up and zoom down the road after Inga slid by in traffic. In the "There is a God and he has a sense of humor" file. A Lexus SUV driver who gunned the throttle after Inga rolled by, must have not known about all those speed traps south of Dallas. He does now, just smiled and waved.....

Pretty Good Friday the 13th all in all.
