In the process of doing a complete CI check of a non-starting 242DL, the Aux Air Valve failed the initial visual inspection (appeared mostly closed at an ambient temp of about 40 degrees). I did a more thorough inspection and am looking for advice on whether it is definitely bad and ought to be replaced. If it is to be replaced, should I consider salvage?
-Placed valve in the freezer for about one hour and visually inspected opening; valve was open a tiny bit (approximately 2mm)
-Placed valve in front of a heat source for about 15 minutes until it was about 100 degrees and visually inspected; valve was completely closed
-Checked for voltage at the wire connector with the ignition in accessory; normal voltage was present
-Checked resistance value of aux air valve; reading was 48.8 ohms (factory manual says it should be between 40-60).
