So, I read up on the removal instructions for the upholstery on 240 front seats and it seemed simple enough. I went out to the car and started. I mostly just wanted to get the sheeps off of my seats (I just don't like the look!), but to do that I have to take out the headrests. I couldn't figure these out for the life of me - even with my hand all the way up inside the seat!
I removed the tilter, the lumbar knob and got the bottom of the back opened up and was about ready to pull the cover off when I decided to pull the sheep straight up to get it out of my way. For all my trouble, I was rewarded with finding a ~6 inch tear in the seat at the right shoulder. This is probably what got the PO to put the sheeps on in the first place. What a bummer!
I put everything back together and snugged the sheep back on. This issue can wait. The seats are plenty comfy as they are.
The seats have some kind of weird hay-looking material instead of foam, though. Once I've gotten all the easy stuff out of the way, I'll have to pull these all the way out and source some foams from 240 passenger seats.
Anyhow, I was taking pictures throughout for the purpose of a visual walkthrough, but I'm about as excited to write this up as I was to find that tear. Here's a link to all I took - http://gallery.me.com/ojdorson#100115
And, here is the "money shot"...
