91 240 with no HI beam lamps & massively leaking rear main oil seal :( 200

Hello again all.

Trying to grind out the last details before I give my daughter her car back.

Issue #1 - no high beams. Aside from the obvious replacement of both lamps, is there any relay, etc. which could be to blame for having both high beams not functional? Seems like the solution should be obvious, but just want to make sure there isn't some relay, etc. in the loop which I need to confirm.

Issue #2 - the engine real oil seal is leaking profusely. I have already cleaned the flame trap, so I'm reasonably confident that is not causing a leak due to crankcase pressure....that and the fact I understand the nickel engine block is near bullet proof so it should not be blowing by the rings causing this pressure and the subsequent leak. Is this a killer DIY job? I presume the easy way is drop the tranny and replace in position? Can this be done or not? Is this a job which should be left to an INDY mechanic? Do I need to drink heavily before getting the quotes?

Issue #3 - no OD function in the auto tranny. Some years ago I replaced the solenoid which bolts to the side of the tranny & believe I confirmed the voltage signal there for actuation....several years ago the OD was working ,but no more. I recall changing that solenoid and installing the new O-rings, which was a real PITA. An auto tranny rebuilder told me to remove the inside O-ring and this would result in the OD being ON all the time (bypassing the solenoid). I have not tried this yet due to difficulty to remove the solenoid. Any experiences out there with this Japanese Auto Tranny OD? It would certainly help the engine whining at 70 MPH without the OD.

thanks in advance.
