1993 Volvo 240 with 247k on the odometer. Silver sedan with blue cloth interior. I must say that I am already in love with it. I drove it on the highway and in the city for two hours. Transmission shifts smoothly and acceleration is responsive, engine is quiet and bay is clean, everything seems to work like it is supposed to.
In the "glove box" were extensive service records dating all the way back to 1994. All of the major mileage services have been done by a Volvo specialist complete with stamp and signature. The car was bought and kept in the southeast. Both the exterior and the interior of the vehicle have been meticulously maintained.
There are a few things I know I am going to need to do ASAP though:
-The timing belt needs to be replaced
-Spark plugs need to be replaced
-Oil and filter need to be changed
-Flame trap should be cleaned or replaced
-Also, the engine has a bit of a rough start when cold but then cranks right up.
I am new to Volvos but not new to mechanical work. All advice and input would be greatly appreciated.
