I was idling at an intersection on a wet evening this week and when I hit the accelerator to turn left, the enging sputtered and shut off. It would crank and crank but the engine wouldn't fire up.
I pushed it into a parking spot and left it for 15 minutes and then it started up but was sputtering wanting to shut off if I were to let it idle.
It wouldn't start again last night while it snowed...just cranked, and then this afternoon it started after just a little coaxing. The idle sputter/desire to shut off lasted a couple of minutes but went away.
I've noticed that one of the spark plug wires loosens off the plug. It doesn't have the suction to the top of the plug like the rest and I have to make sure it is stuck on prior to starting. I found this out the first time it died.
Fuel filter was changed last summer. Is this a distributor problem? Is it a frayed wire somewhere? If anyone has had experience with this, your help would be appreciated.
