Hello all,
This is my first post, so I'll provide a little background before getting into my question. I just purchased an '89 244 with an M47 about a month ago and I've been working on getting it road worthy again after the previous owner let it sit for a year and a half. This is my second 200 (had a '91 245 5 speed in college), but didn't I've only started doing much work on Volvos after my recent purchase. I'd like to thank you all for the extensive amount of useful info that is contained on Brickboard. My Bentley manual is fantastic, but doesn't compare to the wealth of knowledge that you all generously provide.
So, back to the important stuff. I've been experiencing some weaving on the highway when the road has grooves (like when the top layer of asphalt is ground off) or when there are cross winds (I currently live in KS so this is all too common). When the road is smooth and the there is no wind, the car tracks strait and the steering feels relatively tight. It feels tight while cornering as well, but I sometimes hear a clunk coming from the front right side when I hit a bump. Another thing I should mention is that there is some uneven wear(high-low-high-low) on the outside edge of the front tires. Any ideas on what might be causing this and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks,
Matt
