Here's the setup, for all you Volvo detectives (Law N Order RULZ!!)
Car was running great, no problems. Started on a 500 mile trip when 2 hours out, stopped to fill up at an Exxon. Filled up, car immediately started to stumble and shake upon restart. Changed out the fuel pump relay, smoothed out and ran for a few miles, then started to cut out and die.Would not restart until cool down. Would run rough for a while at slow speed, then die. Changed out the AMM, the idle control motor..no luck.
Towed home, but technician says "clogged fuel filter from bad gas", but I changed it last Fall.I have a new one plus an extra Bosch pump that I will change out when it gets warmer tomorrow.
Is there such a thing as Bad Gasoline? I thought it was a thing of the past.
What can we do to prevent bad gas from harming our Volvos...now wife wants me to get rid of my 86 740 and get a HONDA!!!
The Horror!!!
Help, Bricksters.
