Hi folks,
I am trying to get my sunroof to open. The previous owner told me that it had been sealed years ago because of a leak, and there are some stains on the headliner that make me believe her. Despite this, I'd like to get it open so that I can remove the drain clogs that I think were the original cause for the sunroof leak.
If I turn the crank in either direction, I hear a series of SPROINGS until I've rotated it about 270 degrees, then it becomes very difficult to turn. The sunroof itself will move about a centimeter up or down as I turn the crank.
I turned the crank in the direction that would make it retract into the rear portion of the roof, and I put a bit more strength behind it, and I all that happened was a POP sound like a gear skipping a tooth.
How do I need to approach opening the sunroof? Is there a bead of sealer in the way? I'm clueless, and I have no way of knowing what is the actual problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ari
