I'm in the middle of timing belt/water pump job and have??? 200

I'm changing the belt and have the special volvo tool to remove the pulley, but it doesn't seem to line up! I can make it fit, but it then takes it off TDC, the marks no longer line up. What can I do? It's 5pm and the sun won't be up much longer!!!
