Battery Light comes on after car is off 200 1993

I noticed lately that my battery light comes on or sometimes blinks when the car is off and the doors are locked. I have a 1993 Volvo 240.I noticed it first when my girlfriend asked about a new alarm for the car and why I have such a large flashing light instead of the normal small led.I was like what?? I have no alarm! and went outside to find out my "battery light" would come on or go off or even just stay blinking.Its been cold and rainy here in Houston the last two days so maybe something got wet? Just curios whats wrong or if anyone has had this problem....The car is completely stock.
