Car died on Interstate 200 1991

Started car, drove 10 miles on the Interstate. Radio lost volume and broke up, SRS light came on, engine lost power, quit running, weak cranking. Jumpstarted, ran OK for about a minute, same symptoms. Towed to the shop. Any ideas?
