Can I replace rear shocks by myself? 200 1991

It's time to replace the rear shocks on my '91 and I am wondering if it something that I can accomplish on my own with a set of jack stands and a floor jack. I am concerned about compressing the new shock to get it in. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks.
