radio in-dash kit idea needed 900

I don't know what in-dash kit I need for a typical in-dash radio replacement. There are some that just have a faceplate adapter and some that have side tabs, a faceplate adapter and a box into which the radio fits. Do I want the box or not?

I have a 1993 940 Wagon, which has similarity to later 740 dashboard area for radio.
