dangerous failure 200 1982

Driving to Houston this morning I kept getting strong wiffs of gas fumes. It wasn't until I noticed how quickly the fuel gauge was falling that I knew the extent of the problem.

The diaphragm in the control pressure regulator apparently ruptured. On this version of the regulator there is a vent hose; that is where the fuel is coming from.

FCPGroton has one and I've already ordered it. I should be back on the road by the end of my work week. I hope the copper sealing washers on the banjo fittings will reseal with just burnish on a flat piece of emory.
