Possibly the strangest 240 problem ever? 200

Spring snow, nasty weather. I fire up the trusty '84 wagon and head down the mountain to town.

Most of the way there, slick roads, going slow.. I come upon a stuck vehicle abandoned in the middle of a hill... no biggie, as I can easily get around.

But right then my car starts to cut out... I made it, made it to the office, car cutting out all the way. But I made it.

My thought was I had a distributor full of snow/ice/water, etc...

Went out a bit later, started the car and opened the hood. I could hear the arcing from an errant ignition spark. Took a look around, and.. lo and behold...

There was the remains of a midge between my high tension coil wire at the coil, and the negative terminal of the coil. Spark was arcing through this little guys wings and body. I removed midge, and all was fine. The car actually runs better than it has in weeks... so I bet he's been there for a while, and today's humid weather caused him to be more electrically conductive...

always the little things.

If you don't know, a midge is a small fly, often mistaken for a mosquito, but midges are smaller...
