('91 740t wagon)
So I've taken on a tranny flush, timing belt change (100k on the old one and still looked mint), front crank seal and cam seals, new drive belts, air filter, plugs, wires, new cap, cleaned dizzy with new rotor and orings. Up next is a new fuel filter and parking brake cable. I've gone oem parts with as much as possible. The car was running decent so I'm afraid I'm going to break more than I fix. A couple questions so far now that I've buttoned up the engine (D'oh).
1) I fear I seated my front crank oil seal in too far. I knocked the bottom in a little too much and then had to compensate with the top (I was using the PVC pipe method). It now sits about 1/4 inch inside the lip of the flange. The old one was pretty much flush. Will this be ok or should I start over with a new seal?
2)When I pulled my spark plugs three of them were Bosch and one was Volvo. The volvo was is #2 cylinder. It was a freakin bear to get out. After doses of PB I finally put the breaker bar on it figuring the threads were f'ed anyway and got it out. After some cleaning the new plug threaded in fine so I dont think there was any cross-threading or damage done. Question is: which plugs were original? Are dealerships still using volvo spark plugs?
Thanks
